Green Peacock Profile

The green peafowl is a species of forest-dwelling pheasant in tropical and subtropical regions and is a national first-class protected animal. The country is mainly distributed in southern Yunnan. The male bird is particularly long-tailed, with a crown on its head and a green luster on the neck, upper back, and chest. The tail is covered with long feathers and has shiny eyes. The female does not have a long tail, the color is less than the male and the lower body is white. The iris is reddish brown; the mouth is keratinous; the feet are dark gray. Green peacocks live in lowland forests and shrubs along the river. They live in coniferous, broad-leaved forests. They stand in perch on the wood and send out loud trumpets like a trombone. The peacock's day and night activities are usually carried out in the morning when the tree activities are foraging, when the high temperature at noon is on the tree, or hidden in the shade of the forest. In the afternoon, the tree activities are foraging until the evening tree inhabits. The green peacock is mostly male with 3 to 5 females and lives in small groups. It mainly eats small animals such as wild fruits, rice, grass, insects, frogs and lizards. 3 years of age is mature, life can reach 20-25 years old.
