Bordeaux mixture

Bordeaux mixture Protective inorganic copper fungicide. When copper sulfate and quicklime are 1kg and water is 100kg respectively, it is called equivalent Bordeaux liquid. When the quicklime is double that of copper sulfate, it is called double Bordeaux mixture; on the contrary, the amount of lime is 1 cupric sulfate. At the time of /2, it is called half-type Bordeaux mixture.
It is a liquid containing a very small blue granular suspension. Has a corrosive effect on the metal. Low toxicity to warm-blooded animals. Compared with inorganic copper preparations such as copper sulphate, basic copper sulphate, and king copper, it has good spreading property and adhesion. It can form a thin film on the surface of plants and is not easy to be washed by rain. It has a long residual period and is safe for crops.
It is widely used to control diseases in field crops, vegetables, fruit trees, and economic crops. It is most suitable to apply pathogens before invading the host. For copper-sensitive crops such as plum, peach, pear, cabbage, wheat, apple, soybean, etc., in wet and rainy conditions, the dissociation of copper increases and the penetrating power to the leaf surface increases, and it is easy to produce phytotoxicity. Lime-sensitive crops such as solanaceae, cucurbitaceae, grapes, cucumbers, and watermelons are susceptible to phytotoxicity under high-temperature and dry conditions.
