Cucumber cultivation techniques in the Netherlands

Gherkin is an annual creeping plant of the Cucurbitaceae, and the English "mini" is "small", so people gave the Dutch cucumber a sweet name "mini cucumber." This type of melon has a length of 14-18cm, a diameter of about 3cm, and a weight of about 100g. The epidermis is soft, smooth, uniform in color, crisp in taste, rich in melon, and has high economic benefits.

The Dutch cucumbers are mostly female, mainly for greenhouse cultivation. Unlike most open field cultivars, they can develop fruit without pollination and fertilization but do not form fully developed seeds. The advantages of the female line are consistent fruit maturity and high early yields. The characteristics of this type of melon are: melon, 1 melon, 1 melon and 1 melon. Moreover, if the management level is right, there is a great potential for high yield. The output of a single crop of 667 square meters can be more than 10 000 kg. One year can be 2 - 3 茬.

At present, the main domestic cultivars are: DELTASTAR F1, HENDER F1, MK160 F1, SIGMAF1

First, nursery

Cucumber seeds are more expensive, and seedlings are seeded with precision seeds, which can be used with a tray or nutrient cartridge. Dutch cucumbers have high temperature requirements, germination temperature is 24-26°C, high temperature, rapid germination, but slender embryos; low temperature, slow bud emergence, and even bad species. It usually emerges in 4 days. After emergence, keep 23–25°C during the day and 16–18°C during the night. The roots of cucumber seedlings are afraid of phlegm, warm and cold, and strong aerobic respiration. Therefore, we must choose a well-ventilated, heat preservation, fertilizer conservation, water seepage, water-holding capacity of the matrix, such as peat, vermiculite, perlite, cocoa peat and so on.

Second, planting

1. Soil preparation, sorghum, and basal cucumber have the characteristics of high yield. They have large leaves, large assimilation area, early nectarine stage, and can be continuously fruited, but these characteristics are inconsistent with weak root absorption capacity. Therefore, Fine preparation before planting, a large number of application of organic fertilizer, generally 667 square meters of cooked manure more than 5000kg of manure, and then make up some compound fertilizer. It is made of small stilts, and it is 1.2 meters wide.

2. The standard for colonization and colonization was 2 to 4 true leaves, with a seedling age of about 25 days. The planting density was 2,500 plants/667 square meters. Immediately after the planting, the seedlings were watered stably, so that the seedling land and the soil were closely combined, which facilitated the development of the root system to the surroundings.

Three. Field Management

1. After the fertilization and water planting, 3 to 4 days will be used to pour a relatively small phlegm seedling water to promote easing of seedlings. After easing the seedling water, watering should be carried out every time with water. Apply 10 kg of urea and pour it once every 5 to 7 days. The melon period should be sprayed once a week with 0.2%-0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate. The air humidity is maintained at around 80%.

2. The temperature is planted within 1 week to maintain 25 - 30°C during the day, 18 - 20°C during the night, and no more than 35°C. After the seedlings are reduced, the temperature should be reduced to 22-25°C during the day and 16-18°C during the night.

3. Illumination Dutch cucumbers are resistant to weak light, and under low light conditions in winter, they can obtain higher yields. In summer, high temperatures, strong light, and easy obstacles must be covered with shade nets.

4. Carbon dioxide fertilization, if possible, can be properly supplemented with carbon dioxide, so that the indoor carbon dioxide concentration reaches 750mg/kg, cucumber production will increase by 20%.
