Researchers at the "Academia Sinica" in Taiwan have recently confirmed that the abuse of antibiotics will lead to an imbalance of intestinal bacteria, which in turn affects the repair function of the immune system, resulting in a significant increase in the mortality rate of myocardial infarction. The research team also found that if combined with "lactic acid probiotic therapy", it is expected to improve the repair function after heart damage.

The Xie Qinghe team of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the "Academia Sinica" of Taiwan introduced the research results to the outside world in Taipei on the 18th. Xie Qinghe said that after the team used antibiotics to remove intestinal bacteria from mice, it was found that the chances of death in mice undergoing myocardial infarction simulation were greatly increased, and most of them died of heart rupture. After research, they found that the key is the lack of a metabolic product of intestinal bacteria - short-chain fatty acids.

According to reports, short-chain fatty acids are important factors in maintaining immune cell function. A large number of necrotic cells are produced during myocardial infarction, and these cells induce an immune response in the body to repair the heart structure. However, if the body lacks short-chain fatty acids, the repair of the immune system will be affected, thereby increasing the chance of dying from heart rupture.

The research team said that it is known that the balance of intestinal bacteria is closely related to diseases such as obesity metabolic diseases, autoimmune diseases, cancer and mental and neurodegenerative diseases, and it can be regarded as an important symbiotic partner for human health. Recently, some research literatures have pointed out that the imbalance of intestinal bacteria phase is related to the development of cardiovascular diseases. This study further cracks the mechanism of action.

In addition, the research team also found that if combined with the current prevalence of lactobacillus probiotics, the composition of the intestinal flora and its metabolites by Lactobacillus is expected to improve the repair function after heart damage.

According to reports, the study was published in the American medical journal "Circulation" on October 8.
