At this stage, the ambient temperature should be gradually reduced, allowing daytime exposure to warmth while still providing nighttime heating. Lighting during the rearing period should be carefully controlled. A daily light cycle of 8–10 hours is generally ideal for maintaining healthy growth patterns. Feed restriction plays a vital role in managing the future egg production of black phoenix chickens. During this time, it's important to reduce the energy and protein content in the diet while increasing the proportion of bran and green feed to lower the concentration of energy-rich feeds. The feeding system must ensure enough feeders, with quick distribution so that every chicken gets an adequate meal. Regular weighing is also crucial. For example, at 90 days, the target weight should be around 750 grams; at 120 days, 900 grams; at 150 days, 1100 grams; and by 180 days, 1250 grams. Weighing should be done every two weeks, checking 10% of the flock each time. If the average weight falls below the standard, increase feed amounts accordingly. Otherwise, adjust feeding frequency. Maintaining a clean and quiet environment inside and outside the chicken house is essential for reducing stress and promoting healthy growth.
