Scorpion feeding and management in each period

Adult Breeding Management: Preparation for Breeding: During the early stage of breeding, it's essential to ensure that the birds receive a diet that meets or exceeds their nutritional needs. The feed should be rich in fat and varied to maintain interest and provide balanced nutrition. Fresh water must always be available. As the breeding period approaches, the diet should be adjusted based on the body condition of the quails. It's important to increase the levels of full-price feeds and vitamin supplements. To support reproductive health, you can add yeast, malt, and vitamins to their daily meals. Feeding small amounts of estrus-inducing foods like onions and garlic can also help stimulate breeding behavior. During this time, maintaining a warm and clean environment is crucial. Ensure that the housing area is well-insulated and that drinking water is always accessible and clean. Breeding Period Management: During the actual breeding phase, the diet must be complete and rich in protein and vitamins. Animal-based feeds such as fish, meat, milk, and eggs should form the main part of the rations. Maintaining high standards of hygiene in the living area is vital—regularly replace soiled bedding and keep the space clean. It's best to conduct mating sessions about 30 minutes after feeding to ensure the birds are comfortable and active. Pregnancy Feeding Management: Once the female quail has mated and become pregnant, her diet must be highly nutritious, fresh, and appealing. It should contain adequate protein, vitamins, and minerals. The feed should be slightly moist and offered frequently throughout the day. The environment should remain calm and undisturbed to reduce stress. Always ensure there is clean, fresh water available, and monitor the bird’s appetite, digestion, and overall activity levels closely. Lactation Feeding Management: To support milk production, consider adding dairy-based feeds to the diet. Along with increased protein, vitamins, and minerals, the feed should be finely ground and easy to digest. Avoid restricting feed quantity. If the mother refuses to nurse or produces insufficient milk, you can prepare a mixture of finely ground animal feed, cereal, and vitamins mixed with milk to supplement the young. Recovery Period Management: After the breeding cycle ends, the quail enters a recovery phase until her reproductive system is ready again. During this time, the nest should be removed once the chicks are weaned. After the male quail has finished breeding, the female should gradually transition from the breeding and lactation diets back to a normal recovery diet. The proportion of animal-based feed during this phase should not be less than in previous months, and the amount of animal protein in the diet should be increased to support her return to optimal health.
