Relative humidity should be maintained at 70% to 80%. If the air is too dry, the moisture inside the eggs can evaporate, which affects their viability. Conversely, high humidity can cause mold growth, which also harms the eggs. The storage room should remain cool in winter and well-ventilated in summer. It must be clean, dry, and protected from direct sunlight. No pests like mice or flies should be present, and there should be no strong or corrosive smells. The air should always be fresh and free from contamination.
The storage duration should not be too long—ideally no more than five days. Eggs should be placed in an egg tray with the small end facing upward. It's important to turn the eggs regularly, changing their position one to two times a day to prevent the yolk from sticking to the shell. Additionally, it's crucial to avoid storing any harmful or odorous substances such as pesticides, fertilizers, kerosene, gasoline, diesel, tobacco, or alcohol in the same room, as these can damage the eggs and affect their hatching potential.
