Jinbao Fermented Bed Pigs follow similar management practices as traditional pigs, but due to the unique nature of the fermentation bed, there are some specific considerations that need attention. Here are key points to ensure optimal performance and pig health:
1. **Breeding Density**: Overcrowding can negatively affect the fermentation process. Too many pigs in a small area may lead to poor decomposition of manure and urine. It is recommended to provide 1.2–1.5 square meters per pig. If necessary, you can increase density slightly, but always monitor the fermentation quality closely.
2. **Moisture Level**: The surface of the fermentation bed should maintain a humidity level between 30% and 40%. This range supports the growth of beneficial microorganisms. If the bed becomes too dry, it can cause respiratory issues in pigs. Regular checks and moisture adjustments are essential for maintaining a healthy environment.
3. **Parasite Control**: Before introducing pigs into the fermented bed system, ensure they are free from internal parasites. Parasites can enter the bed and later re-infect the pigs through their feeding habits. A thorough deworming program is crucial before placement.
4. **Bed Maintenance**: When the bedding material (such as sawdust) starts to run low, add more organic material along with microbial cultures and nutrient solutions. This helps sustain the microbial activity and ensures continuous breakdown of waste.
5. **Feeding Management**: To encourage pigs to root and dig in the bed, feed them about 80% of their normal amount. This promotes natural behavior and helps keep the bed active. Pigs usually defecate and urinate in designated areas, so when waste accumulates, digging and burying it can help maintain hygiene and promote faster decomposition.
By following these guidelines, farmers can maximize the benefits of the Jinbao Fermented Bed system while ensuring the well-being and productivity of their pigs.
Foley Catheter
A Foley catheter is a flexible medical tube that is inserted into the bladder through the urethra to drain urine. It is commonly used in medical settings when a patient is unable to urinate on their own or needs continuous bladder drainage especially after undergoing some kinds of surgeries. The catheter has a balloon at the end that is inflated once inside the bladder to keep it in place. The urine drains into a urine collection bag attached to the foley catheter. Foley catheters come in different sizes from 6FR - 10FR (pediatric) and 12FR-24FR (adult) and are made typically from latex or silicone. Silicone is superior from every sides comparing to latex foley catheter.
