Today feels like the perfect day to embrace a little more romance than usual—or at least to have some fun while indulging in all things chocolatey and heart-shaped. Even though I’m 300 miles away from my three favorite Valentines, I’m still planning to wear my brightest red lipstick, bat my eyelashes a few extra times, and sprinkle a little extra love into the air. You know, just because it’s February 14th doesn’t mean I have to miss out!
Speaking of love, my Always Valentine (you know who you are!) sent over these incredible grapefruit-sized cupcakes via a mutual friend. They arrived just in time for us to enjoy them while working on our feet all day. Talk about thoughtful! It’s the little things that make life sweeter, right?
When I finally see my family tomorrow, prepare yourselves—they’re getting mega-hugs and Eskimo kisses that will probably last longer than necessary. Because that’s what happens when you’ve missed someone for an entire year. (Yes, I’m dramatic, but it’s worth it.)
For the backdrop of this photoshoot, I couldn’t find a heart-shaped rug I loved, so I got creative. I took an old fluffy Christmas rug and cut it into a heart shape. The rockstar onesie? That was my idea too—I bought a plain black onesie from Hobby Lobby and added rhinestone transfers. And those cute LOVE letters? They were hiding in the dollar bins at Target. Voilà !
Bray is such a ham! He gets super excited when Aliyah tries to hold him, but only for about twenty seconds. Then he squirms free, squealing like it’s all part of the game. Honestly, I think Aliyah thinks he’s just being playful. It’s adorable—and honestly, a little chaotic.
So, here’s to celebrating LOVE today—and every day, if possible. Whether you’re spending it with your significant other, your best friends, or even just yourself, take a moment to appreciate the people (and flavors) that make life sweet.
A little behind-the-scenes peek:
By the way, if you're reading this and thinking about how to add a touch of romance to your own life, why not try making something DIY? It’s cheaper, more personal, and infinitely more fun. Trust me, cutting up rugs and gluing rhinestones is surprisingly therapeutic. Plus, it gives you an excuse to wear your comfiest pajamas while pretending to be Martha Stewart. Win-win!
Hope everyone has a fantastic Valentine’s Day filled with laughter, love, and maybe a few extra pieces of chocolate. Love always wins, right?
