Hey there, everyone! It's been quite a journey getting our rental home spruced up, and I think we're finally starting to see some real progress. Even though we're technically "renting," our landlord was super cool about letting us make some changes. We repainted the walls and swapped out all the trim in the living room, which made a huge difference. But honestly, the fun part is just beginning—there’s still so much decorating left to do!
Let me show you where we’re at with the bathroom. Since we can't tear out any of the built-in features like cabinets, mirrors, or lighting, painting became our go-to solution. And boy, did it work wonders! The space feels so much lighter and more inviting now that we’ve added that fresh coat of paint. We even painted right before moving in, so it felt like a fresh start from day one. Still, there’s room for improvement—like adding a cozy rug, hanging some crisp white curtains (we used what we had for privacy), and filling those empty walls with art. I’ve already started playing around with arrangements using some prints I picked up online. Eventually, I’d love to create a gallery wall that reflects our personality while keeping things bright and airy.
Here’s how the bathroom looked when we first moved in:
Now, while it’s come a long way, there’s still work to do. I’m thinking about creating some DIY art pieces to tie everything together. Maybe something colorful yet simple, like abstract paintings or framed quotes. If anyone has awesome print shops they recommend, hit me up—I’m dying to find something unique that fits the vibe I’m going for. Oh, and don’t forget those finishing touches like a decorative tray or towel set—they can really pull the whole thing together.
Speaking of inspiration, here are some ideas I’ve been pinning lately:
I want this space to feel calm and welcoming, but also energizing and modern. Think sleek lines mixed with pops of color—something that feels both like a retreat and a place where we can relax after a long day. White will always be key for keeping it feeling clean, but I’m hoping to sneak in some personality through accessories and artwork. Any suggestions?
Thanks for following along on this journey! I love hearing feedback from all of you—it makes the process even more enjoyable. Let me know if you have any favorite stores, artists, or tips for pulling off a look like this. I’m all ears!
xoxo,
