Yesterday marked one whole year with our adorable little Skylar. Can you believe it? It still feels surreal to think of him as a one-year-old, even though it's been such a whirlwind of love and joy since he first wrapped his tiny arms—and heart—around mine. His contagious smile and cheerful spirit have completely transformed our lives in ways I never thought possible.
In celebration of this milestone, I decided to spend a day in the kitchen creating some special treats for our sweet boy. One of the highlights was making this incredibly scrumptious confetti popcorn. Let me tell you, it didn’t stand a chance in our household! Every time I turned around, someone was sneaking a handful of kernels. It was almost gone before the party even started! We’re also planning to share a whole week of fun birthday-inspired content, so stay tuned for more!
Making confetti popcorn is surprisingly easy, and now that I’ve got all the supplies ready, it’s definitely going on the list for our next summer movie night. I’ve been meaning to design a free printable popcorn box template for ages, and what better excuse than Skyler’s birthday bash to finally bring it to life?
The popcorn boxes are available as a free download for you! All you need to do is print, cut, and glue them together, and voilà —you’ve got your very own party supplies. I designed the template in sky blue and gray to match the theme of our "sky" party, but feel free to get creative with different colors or designs. Give this confetti popcorn a try—it’s not only tasty but also super cute! Honestly, it’s one of those snacks that disappears faster than you’d expect.
Confetti Popcorn Recipe
- 3 bags of microwave popcorn (we went with kettle corn because it’s our favorite)
- 8 oz of white almond bark
- Your choice of sprinkles
Start by popping your popcorn according to the instructions and placing it in a large bowl. Next, melt the almond bark in a microwave-safe dish, heating it in 45-second intervals while stirring frequently to prevent burning. Once melted, pour the almond bark over the popcorn and mix thoroughly to ensure everything gets evenly coated. Then, sprinkle your chosen confetti sprinkles generously across the popcorn until each kernel is covered. Spread the mixture out on wax paper to cool and set, then serve and enjoy!
Of course, if you’ve got little ones helping (or tasting as you go), there’s a good chance it won’t last long. Trust me, they’ll be snacking their way through the batch before you know it!
If you decide to try this recipe, I’d love to hear what you think. And don’t forget, you can download the free popcorn box template right here. Happy snacking!
