For an alternative treatment, Kwong Ku Ling can be used. Mix 3% Kwong Ling water agent with water at a ratio of 500 times (i.e., 10 grams of the agent in 5 kg of water), and soak the seeds for 24 hours. After soaking, rinse the seeds and proceed with sowing to prevent rice blast disease.
For corn seeds, the same principle applies—select high-quality seeds and dry them for 1 to 2 days before treatment. One common method is using Carbendazim. Mix 50% Carbendazim powder with water at a ratio of 1000 times (i.e., 5 grams of powder in 5 kg of water) and soak the seeds for 48 hours. Afterward, plant them directly to prevent corn blackhead disease.
Another technique is using a rust powder seed dressing. Mix 15% rust powder with 5 grams per 1 kg of corn seeds, ensuring even coverage to prevent corn smut. For pest control, Methamidophos can be applied. Mix 50% Methamidophos EC with 50 grams in 0.5 kg of water, and treat 5 kg of seeds. Allow the seeds to sit for half an hour before planting to control underground pests and rodents. However, if the seeds are already coated, this method is not necessary.
