These feeds provide essential nutrients and help the lamb transition from milk to solid food. Always ensure access to clean, fresh water and consider supplementing with trace minerals to support overall health.

Keeping the lamb’s living area clean and dry is also important. Regularly remove manure, bedding, and dirt to prevent disease transmission. Disinfect the area using a 2-3% sodium hypochlorite solution to maintain hygiene and reduce the risk of infections.

Lastly, preventing and treating common lamb diseases is essential. Diarrhea is one of the most frequent issues. When symptoms appear, isolate the affected lamb and start treatment immediately. Common treatments include oral administration of sulfamethoxazole (0.5g) and sodium bicarbonate (0.2g), three times daily. Alternatively, inject penicillin (50,000–100,000 units) or administer oxytetracycline (0.2–0.3g) orally.

Lamb pneumonia is another serious condition. Symptoms include high fever, difficulty breathing, coughing, and nasal discharge. Treatment may involve intravenous injection of 10% sulfadiazine sodium (5–10mg) combined with 25% glucose solution (5–10ml), twice daily. Penicillin (50,000–100,000 units) and streptomycin (10,000–20,000 units) can also be administered via intramuscular injection twice a day.

By following these practices, you can significantly improve the survival rate and overall health of your lambs, setting them up for strong growth and future productivity.
